Re-design and Re-configure Processes of Care

Over the last 10 years the patient population in our EDs has changed dramatically. Now there are more uninsured patients and patients using the ED that do not have a primary care physician. Hospital closures have driven the volume of neighboring hospital EDs up by 10-20%. The patients are older and have more chronic and debilitating diseases. Patient work-ups are longer and more complex. The triage process has become part of the problem and artificially delays the time to the physician. The processes of care in our EDs have not evolved to compensate for these changes and have become outdated and misaligned with current patient needs.

Emergenuity re-designs and re-configures processes of care and space to drive the new behavior of the staff to better serve the patients. In a way the new design "hard wires" the appropriate behavior that is desired for better performance. We have developed a Systematic approach to ED change management that challenges old conventions and embraces new management methods that assure faster and more effective change than previously attainable.
