To manage the impact of Emergency Department Over-Crowding (EDO) it is important to measure the impact. Emergenuity has developed a robust system of metrics that provide the ED Medical Director with the tools to direct change for improvement. The Physician Assessment Tool (PAT) is a physician specific report that compares each ED physician with the group average, personal targets and benchmarks.

The elements that are measured on a monthly basis are the ones that are most affected by or affect EDO:

• Times
• Patient Satisfaction
• Productivity (RVUs)
• Over-ordering of tests
• Appropriate ordering of tests
• Admission to appropriate level of care

To help the Medical Director track individual physician progress a Summary Report accompanies the monthly individual PATs.
