Emergency Department
Overcrowding (EDO)

This nation's Emergency Departments have been designated the "safety net" for a failing healthcare system. The weight of that system is tearing our Emergency Departments to shreds and our patients are falling through the net. Our EDs are chaotic, disorganized and unsafe. Nursing and physician leadership in the ED has come under intense pressure to improve the situation and frustration leads to divisiveness. Administration sees the ED performance and finger pointing and does not know who to believe. Does this sound familiar?

We focus on outdated and ineffective processes of care within the ED that rob the department of its flexibility and creativity. By helping the staff look at themselves we help them take responsibility for the processes they actually control, and become a part of more dynamic and comprehensive solutions.
